What is SPC Vinyl Flooring?
Stone Plastic Composite Vinyl Flooring, or SPC Vinyl Flooring as it is more commonly known, is similar to WPC vinyl. However, an SPC vinyl is an engineered luxury vinyl that combines limestone and stabilisers to create a durable core. An SPC vinyl floor is still 100% waterproof, but adds stability, dent resistance and structure to vinyl plank flooring.
SPC rigid core vinyl flooring is made up of an extremely environment-friendly formula. It is free of heavy metals, phthalate, methanol, and other harmful substances. As well as this it complies with EN14372, EN649-2011, IEC62321, GB4085-83 standards.
Already extremely popular in Europe, it is also seen in other well-developed countries like the United States, as well as the Asia Pacific market. Known for its stability and durability, SPC rigid vinyl flooring also solves formaldehyde problems. It is an economic option as it is cheaper than real wood and soft to walk on, while the stone composite rigid core is fire resistant.
The floorings rigid core helps to prevent warping when exposed to moisture, meaning you can install in areas that may not have ideal conditions such as bathrooms and basements.

The Solid Wood Flooring Company are proud to launch our SPC Vinyl flooring, with backing made from IPXE, a foam type plastic, rather than cork like most flooring. This is a unique approach making it totally waterproof which is one of the biggest benefits of our flooring. No underlay required!
Also available in a choice of colours and textures, this gives you the flexibility and control to select the right option for you.
Caring for SPC Vinyl Flooring
See our Storage Fitting and Maintenance Instructions part of our T&C’s.
Correct cleaning and maintenance is important, as contamination from paints, whether oil or acrylic based will prove to be difficult to remove without damaging the wood surface. If any paint finds its way onto the wood surface, then BEFORE it completely dries, gentle rubbing with a non-alcoholic wipe might soften and remove the paint – but once the paint has dried it will be almost impossible to remove.Never use solvent cleaning solution.
SPC Rigid Luxury Vinyl Tiles Stone and Marble effect
The real distinctive element of our SPC Rigid Luxury Vinyl Tiles is that the fibreglass within the stone composite means that the resulting plank is more natural than the smaller planks used more commonly in vinyl flooring.
A warmer and softer alternative to stone flooring, this option needs no adhesive and is easy to install, we are even happy to provide contact details for fitters who have installed our products previously with no liability.
