Fitted Wood Flooring

The fitting section here has three main categories. It is extremely important that you read all the helpful documentation and watch the videos in full before being the installation.

Fitting wood flooring:

All wood flooring products must be fitted in accordance with BS 8201:2011 which is the ‘Code of practice for installation of flooring of wood and wood-based panels’.

Normal manufacturing tolerance of 5% have been set to allow for de-selection of material if deemed unsuitable for the installation. An additional 5% to 8% allowance should be made for cutting or wastage to the net square meters required.

We always recommend fully bonding the wood floor to a suitable, sound & dry substrate.  We supply our own high-quality SW-890 MS Polymer adhesive which offers exceptional shear strength and performance.

Fitting Impervia® luxury flooring:

Impervia flooring does not need any adhesives or underlay as it features a patented locking mechanism and has the underlay built-in.  This makes it a single component installation resulting in quick and cost-effective installations.

It is crucial that you follow the installation instructions and watch all the fitting videos in full. They are there to prevent issues with any installation. Impervia should be fitted on an SR1 screed (or similarly level substrate such as chipboard, plywood etc…).

You must use the correct tools to guarantee a solid fit with the Välinge 5G-i push fit system. Specifically, a plastic or nylon mallet head (not rubber).

Fitting Trident laminate flooring:

Trident laminate flooring uses a Unilin click system and the herringbone must be fitted as shown in the videos and instructions on a flat subfloor.
